When we use a crane

Most trees can be taken down with a bucket truck, ropes and an experienced crew. A crane is the better choice when:

  • The tree leans over the house, the pool or a screen enclosure, and there’s nowhere safe to lower the pieces.
  • The tree is in a backyard that a truck can’t get to.
  • The tree is dead or badly damaged, and it isn’t safe to climb or put weight on it.
  • The sections are too large to handle any other way.

How a crane job works

  1. We visit the property to look at the tree, what’s under it and where the crane can set up.
  2. The crane sets up in the driveway, the street or the yard, depending on the reach needed.
  3. Each section is rigged, cut and lifted away from the house, then set down where the ground crew can cut it up.
  4. The wood and brush are loaded out and hauled away.

Cleanup

Crane jobs are large jobs. Cleanup is included, and the yard, driveway and the path the equipment used are picked up before we leave.

How do I know if my tree needs a crane?

We'll decide that when we look at the tree. It depends on the size of the tree, what's under it and how we can get equipment to it.

Does a crane cost more?

Having a crane on site adds to the cost, so we only use one when the job calls for it. The estimate will show how we plan to do the work.

Do you clean up after a crane job?

Yes. Cleanup is included, the same as on any other job.
